Changing Schools (Local to ESF)

In the past couple of years, many parents have opted to move their children, for various reasons, from the local system into ESF (English Schools Foundation) or International Schools.

With this great exodus, what does this mean for the children and their English language?

At KLC (Kiddikraft Learning Centre), we offer Interview Preparation Classes. These classes are designed to help boost children’s English language skills. They learn to become active learners, gain confidence in self-expression, and develop social skills and higher-order thinking, everything that is needed to ace the interview.

Our highly effective programme has helped children gain entry into ESF and International schools like Kowloon Junior School, Beacon Hill Primary School, Shatin Junior, Australian International School Hong Kong and HKIS among others.

However, gaining entry is only the beginning of their English language journey. Many parents feel that once their child has been accepted, all will be well, and their child will come out as confident English speakers.

For some, this is true, but for the majority it is not.

While the stress of exams, tests and a higher workload from their local schools have been eliminated, the challenge now lies in their struggle to keep up with the reading, writing, grammar and understanding of the material given to them.

Children who have been accepted into either ESF or International schools are now thrown into the deep end where grammar and spellingare not taught in schools on a daily or weekly basis and where their writing is expected to be grammatically and structurally correct from the start.

KLC (Kiddikraft Learning Centre) offers a variety of English programmes to enhance students’ English skills to enable them to cope with a full English curriculum at either ESF or International schools.

Our RWI Phonics course integrates reading, writing, and spelling. This develops their ability to read fluently and spell accurately.

The Art of Writing programme is designed to assist young writers improve and develop their literary, grammar and creative writing skills and expands vocabulary and their powers of expression.

Our centre offers free assessments to track your child’s progress. To make an appointment please call (KLN) 23385890 or (HK) 29189506.

Give your child the best start. The love of learning starts here.
